~Let's welcome 2011 with a giveaway~

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and Happy New Year!
We did just about nothing, which was WONDERFUL :)

Well I can't think of a better way to start off the new year than by hosting a give away!

The first half of my give away is a $25 online credit to CSN!  I had never heard of them until Ms. Ginger from Savannah Granny, was hosting a give away and I won!  (woo hoo!  I never win anything!)  Anyway, I checked them out and there's sooooooo many shops to check out.  They have everything from kitchen canisters to adjustable bar stools.  I think i'm going to use mine on this kitchen canister set i've been eyeing.  You really have to just go check them out. If you're needing something, CSN would be the place to look!

A month or so ago, I stumbled across a blog, Sweet Country Life.  Kristin was doing a give away for some custom necklaces.  I didn't win the give away (BOO!) but I did come across the most wonderful adoption story.

Kate, from The Adopt Shoppe, makes these custom tile necklaces and all the proceeds from these necklaces goes towards her and her family's adoption fund.  Here's her story:

My husband and i have been married for 11 years. We lost 2 baby boys before we had our 2 bio children, Madison & Mason. After M & M, the doctors said we couldn't have any more children. We've always wanted to adopt, but didn't know where or how to start. A friend told me about some missionaries in Taiwan that help women there that are willing to give birth to their babies and make an adoption plan for them instead of having abortions--which is incredibly common and VERY accepted, even encouraged there. We did some research on Taiwan. They worship SO many gods over there still. Pretty much any and every god but the TRUE and living God in heaven. My heart broke for these women/girls that had very little options/ no one to turn to or help/ and no faith in God. We wanted to ensure that at least one of these babies from Taiwan grew up knowing without a doubt that God the Father loves her. We brought Mia home in August. She was 5 1/2 months old when we brought her home. If you've adopted before, you know the cost involved. When we traveled in August, it was in the peak traveling time to/from Taiwan, apparently! We had to charge the outrageous cost of the plane tickets to a credit card. That's what I'm working to pay off. And after that is done, we will start saving to bring another little one into a Christian home! Thank you SO much for your help in our adoption(s) and for your interest in our story!

Blessings!
Joyfully and with much love,
Kate

I can't even begin to tell you how much her story moves me.  I consider myself to be a lucky one because I was also adopted by a wonderful set of Christian parents.  They've given me a  great life, good values and most importantly brought me up in a Christian environment and let me know that God is there for me every day.  Unfortunately not every adoption story is a happy one.  Most are.  Mine was and I believe Kate and her family are working towards making that happen for other children.

Which leads me to the second half of my give away.  How about one of Kate's custom necklaces.  The lucky winner will get to choose one of Kate's pieces.  She has several to choose from with scriptures, pictures or you can have one custom made.
I bought two for Christmas presents this year.  One had my 1st grandsons name and information on it.  I gave that to my daughter and the other I gave to my mom with her six grandchildren names on them.  They both love them and have had many, many compliments on them already.

So how do I enter, you may ask?  I'm gonna give you plenty of chances.....so get ready!

1.  Become a follower and leave me a comment letting me know you're new or if you're already a follower just leave me a comment and say hello!
2.  Send a friend my way!  If you send someone my way by posting this on your blog or other, just let them know when they leave a comment as a new follower to tell me who sent them and you're in like Flynn.....who's Flynn btw?
3.  Follow me on Facebook!  I love that place :) Monogram Boutique on Facebook
4.  Post my give away on your blog.  After you post, come back and leave me a comment letting me know you've posted!
5.  Stop by Kate's Etsy shop The Adopt Shoppe , come back and leave me a comment on what your favorite piece is.

That should give you at least four chances at a win.  Lots more if you have some friends stop by ;)
I'll be drawing the lucky winner on Friday, January 14th

Easy breezy!

Thanks for stopping by and even if you don't want to enter, please take a moment to check out The Adopt Shoppe!

This week i'll be joining Susan at BNOTP for Tablescape Thursday

Good luck everyone and many blessings,
Laura

Hi,
My name is Rebecca Gibson. I don't have my own adoption story, but I've been blessed to be a part of other families stories.
I volunteered at The Home of God's Love in Taiwan a year ago. I was there for 3 months and fell in love with 19 beautiful babies and now through facebook and email I get to watch them grow up in awesome families!

I am definitely a follower of your blog now!
I posted your blog on my blog as well.
I also posted it on my Facebook.

And I visited The Adopte Shoppe. I think I would choose a custom necklace with the little map of Taiwan on it. Even after a year, Taiwan is still on my heart and mind every single day.

Oh, and hello to Jessica's mom, Kristin, way up there at the top of the comments. Jessica was my Taiwan buddy:)

I'll be back to read your blog regularly!!
God Bless
